Hailing the fruitful outcome of Thursday's talks between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Sassou, Li said the Chinese government encourages and supports its companies to invest in the manufacturing industry of the Republic of Congo, and positively participate in the construction of its railway network and economic zones.

Sassou's visit comes as the two countries celebrate the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties.

Li said China hopes to take the anniversary as a new starting point to cement political trust, win-win cooperation and cultural exchanges.

The premier recalled his trip to Africa in May, saying he felt the unbreakable friendship and huge potential for cooperation between China and Africa.

"Africa's economic takeoff needs backup from infrastructure such as transportation and power. We are ready to help Africa in its construction of major transportation networks including high-speed railway, highway and regional aviation," said the Chinese premier.

China will help speed up the building of connectivity and integration of the African continent, he said, vowing to share experience and technologies with African countries including the Republic of Congo.

Sassou, on his third visit to China, said Li's proposals for Africa-China cooperation, raised during his African trip last month, were very well received in Africa.

He appreciated China's support for his country over the years, pledging to facilitate win-win cooperation in all areas.

Sassou welcomed more Chinese companies to invest in the Republic of Congo.

Besides Beijing, Sassou will also attend the World Culture Forum scheduled in Shanghai during his nine-day state visit.
